Safelists are opt-in lists
which normally offer both Free and Pro memberships. The rules vary
but normally with a Free membership you are allowed to mail at least once a
week, with a Pro membership you are allowed to mail daily. It is
important to understand that when you join a safelist, you agree to receive
e-mails from other safelist members. In return, you may also send
your e-mails to them. It is possible that you will receive a large
number of e-mails, depending on the membership size of the list. Most
safelists require that you provide two e-mail addresses when signing up, one
main contact e-mail and one alternate e-mail. The main contact e-mail
will be used by the Admin of the safelist when they need to contact you and
the alternate e-mail is used for safelist members to e-mail you. This
way, you can sort through your alternate e-mail address at your leisure.
Safelists can produce
effective results, especially if you can find the good ones. When
mailing to safelists, alternate your e-mail bodies and change your subject
line often.
Listed below are a few
recommended Safelists.
VP TIP:
When registering
for the Safelists use the same user name and
password for each. This will make your life much simpler!
